Grant Title: Treatment Alternatives and Diversion (2010)
Description: This grant will continue for a fourth year projects that were originally funded through 2005 Wisconsin Act 25. These projects deliver treatment and diversion alternatives to jail and prison for non-violent adult offenders with assessed drug and alcohol problems. These funds are administered by the Office of Justice Assistance with project oversight jointly coordinated by OJA and the Departments of Correction and Health Services.

Anticipated Funding Amount: $705,000 is available to support five awards involving six previously funded projects. The same amount will be available to support these six projects in 2011 with future funding dependent of subsequent state budget allocations.
Match/Cost Sharing Requirement: None
Eligibility: Six Wisconsin counties are eligible to apply. These counties and maximum funds allowable are as follows:
- Burnett County and Washburn County (combined application): $140,477
- Dane County: $154,427
- Rock County: $147,908
- Washington County: $123,513
- Wood County: $138,675
Eligible Expenses: All expenses must be new and cannot replace existing state or local government funding. Substitution of existing funds with federal grants (supplanting) will be the subject of monitoring and audit. Violations may result in a range of penalties, including suspension of current and future funds under this program, suspension or debarment from federal grants, repayment of monies provided under a grant, and civil and/or criminal penalties. Funding may be used for personnel and fringe benefits, travel and training, consultants and contracts, supplies and operating expenses and equipment purchases directly related to project operations. Funds may not be used for land purchases, construction or lobbying.
