Grant Title: JAG Drug Task Forces (2009)
Description: Funding will be used to support multi-jurisdictional law enforcement drug task forces and projects involving federal, state and local drug enforcement agencies and prosecutors aimed at enhancing interagency coordination and intelligence sharing targeting gangs, drug, firearms and associated criminal investigations.

Anticipated Funding Amount: A total of $1,250,000 is available to multi-jurisdictional drug task forces in Wisconsin for operations during calendar year 2010. An additional $635,138 in anticipated state penalty assessment fees will be distributed to eligible task forces through the WI Department of Justice. Each drug task force must apply to receive this funding through Egrants and the respective awards are limited to the amounts specified in Attachment A of the announcement.
Match/Cost Sharing Requirement: No local match. State Penalty Assessment Fees should be listed as “State Match” funds.
Eligibility: Eligibility is limited to law enforcement drug task forces that completed the 2009 Comprehensive Threat Assessment. Those task forces eligible to apply have been contacted by OJA prior to the publication of this announcement.
Eligible Expenses: Funding may be used for personnel and fringe benefits, travel and training, contractual/consultant expenses, supplies and operating expenses, equipment purchases and confidential funds. All expenses must be new and cannot replace existing state or local government funding. Substitution of existing funds with federal grants (supplanting) will be the subject of monitoring and audit. Violations may result in a range of penalties, including suspension of current and future funds under this program, suspension or debarment from federal grants, repayment of monies provided under a grant, and civil and/or criminal penalties.
