Grant Title: JAG Prosecution Grants (2009)

Description: Through this grant announcement, funds will be used to support criminal prosecution efforts in eligible counties.

Anticipated Funding Amount: A total of $286,138 is available through funding set aside in the state budget process. Funding covers the first year of the 2009-2011 state budget. This 12-month period began on July 1, 2009.

Match/Cost Sharing Requirement: None

Eligibility: Eligible applicants are restricted to the District Attorney’s Offices of Milwaukee County, Dane County, St. Croix County and Chippewa County. Eligible counties and funds available include:

  • Milwaukee County: $114,938
  • Dane County: $63,750
  • St. Croix County: $82,700
  • Chippewa County: $24,750
Eligible Expenses: Funding may be used for Personnel and Employee Benefits expenses. All expenses must be new and cannot replace existing state or local government funding. Substitution of existing funds with federal grants (supplanting) will be the subject of monitoring and audit. Violations may result in a range of penalties, including suspension of current and future funds under this program, suspension or debarment from federal grants, repayment of monies provided under a grant, and civil and/or criminal penalties.
