The Statistical Analysis Center (SAC) has collected data on sexual assaults as part of the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) program since January 1, 1984. The Sexual Assault Report focuses on five sexual assault offense types defined by both the national and Wisconsin Incident Based Reporting systems (IBRS), and one additional assault category defined by State Statutes and included in the Wisconsin IBRS for a complete count of sexual assaults. These offense types are: Forcible Rape, Forcible Sodomy, Assault With An Object, Forcible Fondling, Statutory Rape, and Ejaculate/Excrete Upon Victim.
2004 Sexual Assaults in Wisconsin Report - Revised
This report presents data on sexual assaults reported to law enforcement agencies in Wisconsin for the period of January 1, 2004 through December 31, 2004. Data were collected by the Statistical Analysis Center (SAC), as part of OJA’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) program. Findings for the 2004 report include 3.7% increase in reported sexual assaults.
2003 Sexual Assaults in Wisconsin Report
This report presents data on sexual assaults reported to law enforcement agencies in Wisconsin for the period of January 1, 2003 through December 31, 2003. Data were collected by the Statistical Analysis Center (SAC), as part of OJA’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) program. Findings for the 2003 report include a 6.8% decrease in reported sexual assaults.
2002 Sexual Assaults in Wisconsin Report
This report presents data on sexual assaults reported to law enforcement agencies in Wisconsin for the period of January 1, 2002 through December 31, 2002. Data were collected by the Statistical Analysis Center (SAC), as part of OJA’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) program. Findings for the 2002 report include 19.7% increase in reported sexual assaults.
1999-2001 Sexual Assaults in Wisconsin Report
Data is provided on sexual assaults reported to law enforcement agencies for the period January 1, 1999 through December 31, 2001. Data were collected as part of OJA’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) program. Findings for the 1999-2001 report include 1% decrease in reported sexual assaults during 1999, a 10.4% decrease in reported sexual assaults for 2000, and a 4.7% decrease in reported sexual assaults in 2001.
1998 Sexual Assaults in Wisconsin Report
Data is provided on sexual assaults reported to law enforcement agencies during 1998. Findings for the 1998 report include an estimated 6,056 sexual assaults reported to law enforcement agencies, representing a 3.0% increase over the 1997 estimated total of 5,881. Forcible fondling was the most common type of sexual assault, accounting for 46% of all reported cases, while the most the three most serious types of offenses accounted for 31% of all reported sexual assaults.
