Wisconsin is receiving $32.5 million in justice-related funding through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. These funds will be distributed across two grant programs: Byrne/JAG and Violence Against Women (VAWA).
Funds will be made available in two funding streams: 1) state-administered funds awarded by OJA through competitive grant procedures, and 2) funds awarded directly by the federal Bureau of Justice Assistance to cities, villages and counties. These "Local Direct" grants are limited to units of local government appearing on the Recovery Act JAG allocation list.
State-Administered Awards (OJA awarded) total $21.3 million
Federal Direct Awards (Local Direct) total $11.2 million. Click here to see a spreadsheet of Wisconsin recipients.
New grant announcements are opening daily. Go to the Funding Opportunities page to see what's coming up.
