The Justice Gateway will be the primary access point for justice professionals to receive vital criminal justice information. It will provide authorized individuals timely and more complete information that is currently unavailable from the myriad of systems in place. As envisioned, the Justice Gateway will provide efficient data access from multiple information sources resulting in a more holistic vision as critical decisions are made. To ensure public safety, the Justice Gateway will also alert the appropriate officials, such as probation/parole agents, when their clients come into contact with law enforcement.
WIJIS has recently published the 2006 Local Implementation Plan. This describes the process and the agencies that will be participating in the Gateway over the course of the next 18 months.
