On May 13, 2008, Governor Doyle signed Executive Order 251 addressing the findings of the Commission on Reducing Racial Disparities in the Wisconsin Justice System and creating the Racial Disparities Oversight Commission. The Oversight Commission, composed of four representatives of law enforcement, the legal profession, the judiciary and the criminal justice system will exercise oversight and advocacy concerning programs and policies to reduce disparate treatment of people of color across the criminal justice spectrum.
The Commission will meet regularly, at least twice annually, to assess the state's progress in reducing disparity. Information on upcoming meetings, reports and other findings will be updated on this site; please check back frequently.
To contact the Commission, request information or submit recommendations, please contact Commission staff member Mr. Lindsey Draper at 414-550-9731 or Lindsey.Draper@wisconsin.gov.
